The official currency of Venice, Italy is the Euro (€). Coins range from 1 to 50 cents and to 1 to 2 Euro coins and the paper bills range from 5 to 500 Euro. Most of the top restaurants, shopping centers, boutiques, guided tour companies, hotels, etc. accept credit cards. Smaller establishments tend to only accept Euros. Only US Dollars and Euros will be accepted as cash payment for any onsite registrations at the ES Summit registration desk.
The official language of the ES Summit is English. While Venetian and Italian are the most spoken languages in Venice, English is also widely spoken.
Passports and Visas
Advance travel planning and early visa application are important, since visa applications are subject to a great degree of scrutiny. It is strongly suggested that all attendees contact their local embassy to determine the travel documents they will need to visit Italy.
It is recommended that all attendees take out a personal travel and health insurance policy for their trip to the European Section Summit in Venice, Italy.
Printing services will NOT be available onsite at the Hilton Molino Stucky. MDS is not aware of any vendors close to the hotel that offer printing services. Please plan accordingly and come to Venice with your physical poster already printed.
